Frank Marchand. Like any good barber, Palmer immediately makes you feel
like a regular in the chair as Frank spins tales of everything from big
band records to the lost art of barbering." - A.D.Liano, Barberland

ABOUT THE MOVIE

Frank Marchand provided a steadfast service of barbering in the town of Rochester, New Hampshire for over half a century. As a native, citizen and productive member of Rochester for more than 80 years, some would say that Frank Marchand was definitely a cut above. So when Frank tells his tales of buzz cuts and close shaves, he also tells the story of Rochester’s colorful past.

Born into a lineage of local barbering, Frank perpetuated a family profession and business while enriching the art of barbering with unmatched fervor for his work. Even Marchand’s Barbershop, which doubled as a used record store, reflected his unique and spirited personality.

Flicker Pictures aims to capture that very spirit with the documentary of Frank the Barber. With hopes, this project will increase awareness of the overlooked trade of barbering and recognize the barber as a valued part of the community.

Please contact Jeff Palmer at Flicker Pictures for more information about this important project.
